2015 Greenwich Town Competition, Sunday, February 22nd, 2015 Competitors List

For all Greenwich Town Competitors interested in practicing at the Dorothy Hamill Rink: 

For all Greenwich Town Competitors who are interested in practicing at the competition rink: please note that the WHSC Ice Sessions are only open to current members of the club (Intro, Associate, Home or Collegiate) however for those participating in the Well Balanced or Test Track events, WHSC will waive the membership fee to allow the skater a one-time only practice on the ice.  Skaters must fill out an application and waiver form with a parent/guardian signature and pay the prevailing walk on rate for the ice time.  if more than one practice is required, the skater must join and pay the prevailing membership due as applicable - no exceptions.  All DH Rink and WHSC Club rules apply.  Coaches must provide a copy of their current professional  insurance. WHSC Sessions are held Fridays 5:15-7:15pm and Saturdays 4:15-6:15pm. 


 The Dorothy Hamill Skating Rink will make a practice time available to Basic Skills competitors.  Please check with the office regarding date and time.

 We have identified an inconsistency in the 2014-15 USFSA Basic Skills Competition Manual concerning the Basic 8 Program Elements  - Waltz Jump criteria and want to call your attention to a clarification we have received from Erin Schopf, USFSA Basic Skills Program Manager.

 She has stated that “For your Greenwich Town Competition, please include the verbiage “from a standstill, or a back edge entry*”.  It has been confirmed that the Teaching Tips Manual and the Basic Skills Competition Manual were not consistent for the 2014-2015 season. Test Session Scheduled for November 10, 2014 at Dorothy Hamill Rink

The Windy Hill Skating Club will hold a Moves and Freestyle Test Session on Monday November 10, 2014 at the Dorothy Hamill Skating Rink, Sherman Way, Greenwich, CT 06830.  Please click on the link below to download the form. WHSC Membership Forms for 2014-15 and New 20-Session Ice Package For Use Fri OR Sat!

Greetings!  The Windy Hill Skating Club’s season at the Dorothy Hamill Skating Rink in Greenwich, CT kicks off on Friday, September 19, 2014 and the last session will be Saturday, March 14, 2015. The Windy Hill Skating Club (WHSC) is a member of the US Figure Skating Association and offers Freestyle ice sessions on most Fridays and Saturdays. Home Club members: the membership renewal application must be returned by June 25, 2014, to ensure your continued USFS membership status.  There is a NEW 20-Session Ice Package which may be used Fridays OR Saturdays. See the attached form for pricing; the form should be completed and submitted with the membership application. Please note: we have revised the Ice Policy to make it more flexible to accommodate skaters practice schedules.


In addition to registration with USFSA and Skating Magazine, Home Club members receive a special discounted rate for the 20-session Ice Package (see attached form) and preferred access to all WHSC sponsored Testing.

  • HOME CLUB MEMBERSHIPS: Skaters must be a WHSC Home or Associate member to skate on WHSC ice sessions. Please note, USFS membership year ends as of June 30th. Please complete the form included and return ASAP. If you are a Home Club member and you have allowed your membership to lapse, you will not be allowed to participate in TESTING OR WHSC ice sessions until all required paperwork/fees have been submitted. Note: if you are planning to test this summer, it is imperative that you renew your membership NOW in order for us to release a good standing letter for any tests AFTER July 1, 2014.
  • WHSC Test Sessions will take place in the Fall and early Spring. Dates will be posted as soon as confirmed.


This year we have revised the Subscription Ice Policy and will offer a 20-Session package of two-hour discounted sessions, which may be used either Friday or Saturday.

  • Payment Form must be submitted with membership and no later than Sept. 1st, to guarantee availability.
  • WHSC Ice Usage Policy has changed! The first 30 minutes are no longer restricted to Moves only.
  • Walk-on rate remains $30 per hour or $45 per 90 minutes. Any 2 hour sessions will be charged at $30 per hour if not purchased in advance with the 20-Session Ice Package.

Figure Skating Competition 

Hosted by the City of New Britain, Newington Arena  

and the Connecticut Skating Academy


The 2014 Nutmeg State Games Figure Skating Competition will be hosted by the Newington Arena and coordinated by the Connecticut Skating Academy at Newington.




The competition will be held on Saturday, July 12th (and Sunday, July 13th if needed). All Gold, Silver and Bronze Medal Winners will qualify for the 2015 State Games of America in Lincoln, Nebraska.

The Nutmeg State Games is the largest amateur multi sport Olympic-style sporting event in Connecticut. We are now celebrating our 26th Anniversary of uniting Connecticut's residents in the common bond of amateur sport and Olympic spirit. Since the inception of the "Games" in 1989, more than 135,000 amateur athletes have participated in the "Games".
