The Windy Hill Skating Club was founded in 1978 and is a member club of the United States Figure Skating Association. Windy Hill exists to provide the opportunity for advanced figure skaters to progress beyond the basics of figure skating within the framework established by the United States Figure Skating Association.
Windy Hill membership is open to all skaters and includes membership in the United States Figure Skating Association. Various types of membership are available. Windy Hill members have the opportunity to train individually with professional figure skating coaches during our freestyle sessions at Dorothy Hamill Rink in Greenwich, Connecticut. Windy Hill provides ice time in 2-hour sessions on Fridays, during which no more than 26 member skaters are allowed to skate at any one time. Skaters may purchase ice subscriptions for the season or pay per session as walk-on skaters. All skaters must be Home Club or Associate members of Windy Hill to attend our Friday ice sessions.
Skaters are provided the opportunity to advance through the eight levels of freestyle skating, moves in the field and ice dancing as established by the United States Figure Skating Association at test sessions scheduled by our test chairperson. USFSA judges are invited to test sessions to judge and critique those skaters desiring to be tested.
Windy Hill members have the opportunity to compete at local, regional, and national competitions sanctioned by the USFSA. Many Windy Hill skaters compete in the USFSA discipline of synchronized skating at the regional, national and international level as members of local synchronized skating teams. Synchronized skaters and coaches are well represented at our freestyle and test sessions. Windy Hill is proud to have international, national and regional synchronized champions on our ice every Friday!
